Repositioning cruises are a unique cruise experience, and happen when a cruise line relocates a cruise ship to another location at the end of that cruise season. The peak cruise season in Australia generally coincides with the warmer Spring and Summer months of September through to February. Following this, many of the cruise ships that are based in Australia during this period will relocate (or "reposition") to another country. This is a great opportunity to take an extended cruise from Australia to another country (e.g. Hawaii, Singapore, Japan, Tahiti, Los Angeles) with lots of interesting international ports to visit along the way, and then return via airplane.
